GiftSentra ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our app and services. By using GiftSentra, you agree to our Terms of Service.
1 Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve GiftSentra's services:
Account Information
- Name, email, and profile details provided during sign-up
- Authentication data managed by Supabase
Payment Information
- Subscription and billing info processed via Stripe, App Store, or Google Play
- We do not store full credit card numbers
Usage Data
- App usage analytics
- In-app purchases and subscription activity (via RevenueCat)
Device Information
- Device type, operating system, and app version
Third-Party Personal Data
- You may enter personal information about others (friends, family), including names, birthdays, interests, and gift preferences
- You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to share this data
- We use this data solely to provide the service to you
Push Notification Tokens
- Expo push tokens are stored to send reminders and notifications. Expo routes these to APNs on iOS and FCM on Android.
- We do not use push notification tokens for advertising or tracking users outside of GiftSentra.
2 Calendar Integration
If you connect a calendar (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook), we access event data to help identify gift-giving occasions.
- Only events you choose to import are stored; we do not retain your full calendar
- Imported calendar events are permanently deleted when you delete your account
- Calendar OAuth tokens are stored in encrypted form and used only to retrieve your calendar data on your behalf
- You can disconnect your calendar at any time from the app settings
3 AI Gift Suggestions
Gift suggestions are generated using third-party AI services, which may include Cerebras and/or OpenAI. The specific provider may change over time.
What's shared: Relevant details such as interests, names, and budget may be sent to these services to generate personalised recommendations. Gift data sent to AI providers is used only to generate gift suggestions and is not stored permanently by GiftSentra. AI providers may retain logs for service operation or improvement according to their own privacy policies.
4 Product Search
When you search for gift products, your search queries are sent to third-party product search services to retrieve results. These services may include SerpAPI, DataForSEO, eBay, Amazon, and Walmart.
Only the search query (e.g. product name or description) is transmitted — no personal account information is shared with these services.
5 How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and maintain the app
- Manage subscriptions and payments
- Respond to support requests
- Send reminders and push notifications
- Analyse usage trends and improve our services

7 Subscription & Billing
GiftSentra offers subscription-based services:
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
Subscription management:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Android: Google Play → Account → Subscriptions
- Web / Stripe: Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from your account settings)
8 Account Deletion
You may delete your GiftSentra account at any time from the Profile screen (mobile) or account settings (web). Deleting your account:
- Permanently removes all your personal data from our systems, including imported calendar events and push notification tokens
- Stripe subscriptions are not automatically canceled when you delete your account. You can cancel via the Customer Portal (accessible from your account settings) or later using links in Stripe email receipts.
- App Store and Google Play subscriptions are managed by Apple/Google and are not affected by account deletion — you can manage or cancel them via your device settings at any time
9 Cookies & Analytics
We use analytics and cookies to understand app usage and improve functionality. We do not track users outside the app.
10 Security
- Data is stored securely in Supabase
- Payment data is processed by Stripe (PCI-compliant)
- In-app purchases are tracked via RevenueCat
- Calendar OAuth tokens are stored encrypted
- Push notifications are delivered securely via Expo (APNs / FCM)
- Absolute security cannot be guaranteed; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe
11 Children's Privacy
GiftSentra is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12 Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Upon account deletion:
- All personal data, imported calendar events, and push notification tokens are permanently removed from our systems
- Transaction and billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations
13 Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
- Accessing the personal data we hold about you
- Requesting corrections to your data
- Requesting deletion of your data
- Requesting a portable copy of your data (data export)
- Restricting or objecting to certain processing
- Opting out of marketing communications

14 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and the effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of GiftSentra after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
